Our Umbraco 13 to 17 upgrade is a fixed price of £8,999 plus VAT. That is the whole job: the upgrade itself, testing, and 30 days of cover after go live, delivered in around 21 days end to end with no downtime at cutover. Payment is split 50/50, half up front and half on completion. Upgrades from other versions are quoted individually because the effort depends on how far behind you are and how much custom code the site carries, but the fixed price gives you an honest benchmark. If an agency quotes you far more without explaining why, or far less without mentioning testing, ask questions. We have upgraded Umbraco sites through every version since v4, so we quote from experience.
Upgrade pricing is where buyers get burned most often, usually because the quote covers the version bump but not the things around it: testing, content checks, fixing the custom code that breaks between major versions, and support after go live. Our answer is a fixed price that covers all of it.
For an Umbraco 13 site moving to Umbraco 17, the fixed price includes the full upgrade, testing against your real content and integrations, a cutover with no downtime, and 30 days of cover afterwards so anything that surfaces in the first month is fixed as part of the job. The typical timeline is around 21 days end to end. Payment is 50/50: half to start, half on completion.
An upgrade is the classic project where hourly billing punishes the client. The messier the old site, the more hours it takes, and you carry that risk. A fixed price puts the risk where it belongs, with the people doing the work. We can offer it because we have done this across more than 200 Umbraco sites and every version since v4 in 2011, so we know where the traps are before we start.
Umbraco 13 security support ends on 14 December 2026. After that date an unsupported site is a growing liability, and remediation work done under pressure always costs more than planned work done in good time. Booking ahead of the deadline is the cheapest version of this project you will ever get.
If you are on an older version than 13, or your site has heavy customisation, we will scope it and give you a firm number before you commit. Details are on our Umbraco migrations and upgrades page, and our FAQ hub covers the questions we hear most.
